About Our School : What's New Archive

On parade - Children perform on the catwalk

Last week, some of our Lower School children took to the catwalk to model some of the latest in kids’ fashions. This is the second such parade organised by the PFA, and it was again extremely popular with the children and their parents. Every sale raised commission for school funds, and by the end of a lively and fun-packed evening, nearly £300 had been earned – a fantastic effort!

You watch some footage of our children in action online.

OWSAT on the move - The school website story continues

Child using the ICT suite

Have you checked out the school’s website lately? Re-launched this week, the site has a fresh look, increased functionality and new content that recognises the children’s achievements in a range of different media. The children’s role in building and maintaining the school’s online presence has steadily increased over the past year, and the new web design allows for a more simple and quick update with information and events as they happen in school.

Please make regular visits to www.somersham.cambs.sch.uk and tell us what you think, using the ‘contact us’ facility. In the ‘What’s New’ section, which can now be readily viewed and accessed from the Home Page, there are several examples of recent PFA inspired events caught on digital video: ‘Head for a Day’ captured by BBC Look East’s cameras, and ‘Kids on the Catwalk’. Thank you to Daniel Bates for his continuing technical help and enthusiasm in making this superb communication tool.
