Job Opportunities

Would you like to join our team?

There are currently several opportunities to work at Somersham Primary:

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Therefore prior to all appointments being confirmed, full safety and welfare checks are undertaken and employment references taken up.

Vacancy: Teaching Assistants - Named Child (3 posts): Part-time Contracts

Post 1 & 2 supports a child with Medical Needs in Y1 for specified hours in total per week. The posts will be split to ensure that cover is available to meet the child's educational and medical needs. Experience of working with children previously is preferred, although training will also be offered to the successful candidates. Flexible working is essential, although hours worked will be mainly in the mornings/afternoons.

Post 3 supports a child on the Autistic Spectrum in Y4

We invite applications for the posts below from suitably qualified and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join the staff at this friendly and successful Group 3 primary school.

Job specifications and an application form can be accessed by clicking on the links below:

When completing an application, please make clear for which of the three posts you wish to be considered.

Mrs Nargis Miller, Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator at the school, may be contacted at the school for further details.

The closing date for completed applications is 1.00 p.m. on Thursday 9th September, and interviews for short-listed candidates will be held on Tuesday 14th September 2010.

Regular vacancies: Come and join our dedicated support staff team

The school is always on the lookout for Support Staff to support and aid the learning of individuals and small groups of children. We are looking to build and maintain a list of enthusiastic people who would be interested in working in the school in a support capacity, either on a one-to-one basis or with small groups, as vacancies arise.

Example job specifications can be found by clicking on the links below:

To register your interest, please send a brief letter detailing any relevant experience, whether you would prefer group or individual working and your preferred hours, and your full contact details to the school office, marked for the attention of Mrs N. Miller (SENCo).

In the event of suitable roles becoming available, Mrs Miller will be in touch to discuss any opportunities further.

Regular vacancies: Midday Supervisors - Relief

We regularly have vacancies for Midday Supervisors – to supervise children at lunchtime - on a friendly and dedicated team. These are permanent appointments and involve working during the school lunch hour between 12 – 1 pm, as cover for one of the 8-strong midday supervisory team (term time only). Applicants need to be available to sometimes stand in at relatively short notice.

Anyone can apply; Mums, Dads, Aunts, Grannies!

The job description is available to download.

An application form, which should be completed in full, is also available to download.

If you are interested in this post and would like to find out further details, please contact the school office for an informal chat.
